In 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, offering a glimpse into the plot but leaving fans wondering how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Gang

In the teaser reveals the young girl — who received Andy's toys when he left for college — receiving a brand new toy, one that terrifies Woody, Buzz, and the crew. She acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.

Presumably, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like the rest of her playthings. Still, the toys seem to view it as a threat coming to replace them, which it probably is.

Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4

One thing the teaser doesn't touch on is what Woody is returned with his companions in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him embark on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (the actress), traveling with a carnival and helping giveaway items find good homes.

Surely, the filmmakers will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him appear in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, though. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have returned with him. And what about the stuntman toy (the star)?

Continuity from the Previous Film

Fortunately, some aspects are continuing from the prior film. The final act the cowboy did before setting off for his fresh path was hand over his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (the voice actor), leaving her as the leader of the toy domain. The clip shows the badge pinned to her shirt.

It is hoped she is remains the key figure among the toys.
